Delivering Excellence in Complex Project Cargo Logistics
Scope: Freight forwarding of project cargo from Singapore port to Kakinada
Challenges Faced:
- Urgency: The cargo was of utmost importance for the plant setup and required immediate delivery to the consignee
- Time Constraints: We had a tight timeline to find a suitable vessel within a week after receiving the order. Additionally, all 73 packages were non-stackable
- Holiday Period: The order was confirmed in the third week of December, during the Christmas holidays and year-end break. We faced difficulties in loading the packages on December 30th and sailing the vessel early in the morning on December 31st
- Documentation and Manifest: Despite the time limitations, we managed to release the Bill of Lading (BL) and filed the import manifest within a challenging time frame of four days
Operational Achievements:
- Timely Arrival: The vessel reached the discharge port of Kakinada within five days, in line with the estimated time of arrival (ETA)
- Efficient Port Handling: Despite Kakinada port being a busy port with waiting times for ship berthing, we, along with the vessel agents, secured a berth upon arrival
- Successful Delivery: Overcoming all the obstacles, we successfully delivered the cargo as committed to our esteemed client
